Foreign Language

Language is a tool of creation, as shown by the depiction of the creation of the world in the Torah: "And God said, ‘Let there be light’ “ (Genesis 1:3).

At Einstein Academy, we recognize the advantage of learning a second language at an early age, so we include daily language instruction into our program. According to the Center for Applied Linguistics, learning a second language at an early age has many benefits, including:

  • Has positive effect on intellectual growth (usually translating to higher math skills, better standardized test skills).

  • Enriches and enhances a child’s mental development (increased problem solving and critical thinking skills, more creativity, enhanced memory, improved multi-tasking abilities).

  • Leaves students with more flexibility in thinking, greater sensitivity to language, and a better ear for listening.

  • Improves a child’s understanding of his/her native language.

  • Gives a child the ability to communicate with people s/he would otherwise not have the chance to know.

  • Opens the door to other cultures and helps a child understand and appreciate people from other countries.

  • Gives students a head start in language requirements in college.

  • Increases job opportunities in many careers where knowing another language is a real asset.

At Einstein Academy, we believe learning Hebrew has an added benefit of further connecting students to Jewish heritage and Israel, so we offer Hebrew instruction. Additionally, recognizing the global nature of our world today, we offer the option of Spanish as well with the potential of additional languages in the future.
