Foreign Language
Language is a tool of creation, as shown by the depiction of the creation of the world in the Torah: "And God said, ‘Let there be light’ “ (Genesis 1:3).
At Einstein Academy, we recognize the advantage of learning a second language at an early age, so we include daily language instruction into our program. According to the Center for Applied Linguistics, learning a second language at an early age has many benefits, including:
-
Has positive effect on intellectual growth (usually translating to higher math skills, better standardized test skills).
-
Enriches and enhances a child’s mental development (increased problem solving and critical thinking skills, more creativity, enhanced memory, improved multi-tasking abilities).
-
Leaves students with more flexibility in thinking, greater sensitivity to language, and a better ear for listening.
-
Improves a child’s understanding of his/her native language.
-
Gives a child the ability to communicate with people s/he would otherwise not have the chance to know.
-
Opens the door to other cultures and helps a child understand and appreciate people from other countries.
-
Gives students a head start in language requirements in college.
-
Increases job opportunities in many careers where knowing another language is a real asset.
At Einstein Academy, we believe learning Hebrew has an added benefit of further connecting students to Jewish heritage and Israel, so we offer Hebrew instruction.
